Four ways to get to downtown Seoul from Incheon International Airport

1. Taxi

When you have a lot of luggage, when you’re short on time, when you can’t even think of getting to your destination! Taxi is the fastest and most convenient way to go. As long as you know the address, you can get right to the front door of your destination.

If you come out of the Incheon International Airport terminal and arrive at the taxi stop, you can see various types of taxis. The taxis you see at Incheon International Airport are divided into mainly four types: regular taxi, luxury taxi, large taxi, and international taxi.

2. Airport Bus

If you are looking for cheaper transportation than a taxi, the airport bus is a good choice.


The airport buses travel around Seoul and stop frequently at major hotels and neighborhoods, so they have a good accessibility.

It depends on the traffic situation and destination, but on average, it takes about 60 to 80 minutes to get downtown. Fares vary from 5,000 won to 15,000 won depending on the destination.

Exit 4 and 9 in Arrival Hall Floor 1 (indoors) or offices next to Exit 4, 6, 7, 8, 11, 13, and 9C (outdoors).

Transit Center, Bus terminal (B1)

Tickets can be purchased at the designated ticket counter outside the terminal. You can buy it with cash, credit card, or T-money transportation card. 3. Airport Railroad

The Airport Railroad (AREX) is a railway that connects Incheon International Airport and downtown Seoul. The biggest advantage is that the price is the cheapest and you can get to your destination without worrying about traffic conditions. There are two types of airport trains: the express train and the all-stop train, and if you take the express train, you can get to Seoul Station in 45 minutes. If you are a passenger going to Hongik Univ. Station or Seoul Station, we recommend you take the express train!

 Express Train

The express train running without a stop can go to Seoul Station in about 40-50 minutes. The fare is cheaper than other transportation, costing about 9,000 won for adults and 7,000 won for children.

Tickets can be purchased at the Customer Information Center on the B1 floor of each terminal.

Due to COVID-19, direct trains will be suspended for three months from April 1, so please be aware that they will not be available in the meantime.

 All Stop Train

The all-stop train is connected to the subway, so it is convenient to go to various stations in Seoul from Incheon International Airport. You can take the all-stop train with a T-money transportation card, or a one-time ticket, so it’s the most useful way for customers who are planning to use public transportation during their trip. Tickets can be purchased at the ticketing machine or customer information center near the airport railway boarding area!

It takes about 60 minutes to get to Seoul Station, and the fare is up to 4,750 won, which is the cheapest way to get to downtown Seoul.

4. Late-night Bus

Are you worried about arriving at dawn..? Here’s a reason why you could enter the city even at dawn! Late-night buses are in circulation.


The fare is 9,000 won for adults and 7,500 won for children, and only 5,000 won for adults and 4,000 won for children if you go to Songjeong Station.
