Korea is a representative example of a country with four distinct seasons and all the unique charms they each bring with them. If you visit in the March-June period, be sure to dress lighter as the spring weather warms up. Traveling this time of the year is a treat for your eyes! It’s such a special time because you’ll be able to see various flowers blooming, such as plum blossoms, rape flowers, tulips, and roses. 01. Plum blossoms at the beginning of Spring at Seoul’s Changdeokgung Palace

Plum blossoms are the first flowers to overcome the colder weather and start blooming to mark the beginning of spring. They usually begin to bloom at the end of February, fully blooming around mid-March to April. Out of all the possible locations in Korea, we daresay that Changdeokgung Palace offers the most “Korean” flower viewing experience.

Travel Destinations with Spring Flowers in Korea 02. A feast of tulips and rape flowers at Jeju Island’s Boreumwat

Another place to visit in March-April is Borom Wat on Jeju Island, where you can revel in the  tulips and rape flowers! “Borom wat” means “windy field” in the Jeju dialect meaning. It’s a farm meets cafe where you can see animals like goats, sheep, and cows in addition to of course the fields of flowers.

General admission is 5,000 won (includes adults and middle and high school students), 3,000 won for senior citizens (65+ years old) and children (elementary school students or younger). If you plan to visit with children, we recommend riding one of the highlights of Borom Wat, the can train! If you are visiting Jeju Island this spring, you can squeeze in Borom Wat, Bijarim, and Geomun Oreum as these popular travel destinations are all close together!

As we enter April, there is another special attraction filled with spring flowers, with tulips being that stars of the show. It’s Yongin Everland. This is a theme park loved by Koreans because there are many attractions such as seasonal flower festivals, parades, and of course the exciting rides.

The Four Seasons Garden in Everland holds a tulip festival every March-April and a rose festival every May. The wide fields filled with beautiful flowers and gushing fountains are truly a spectacular sight. If you happen to visit during that period, you’ll walk away with all the more special travel memories.
