Have you heard of the song called “Cherry Blossom Ending” by Busker Busker? It’s basically like a spring carol in Korea. Like the song title suggests, no spring season in Korea is complete without cherry blossoms. Not only will we share the locations in Yeongjongdo of Incheon, we’ll also give some tips on how to enjoy each spot a little better. If you have any travel plans to visit Korea this spring, keep these places in mind!

TIP! Trek through the “Healthy 100 Years’ Path” and soak in the cherry blossoms

In Yeongjongdo, Incheon, there is a special attraction called the “World Peace Forest” where there is a nature oasis in the middle of the city. This is a natural ecological park created in 2009, funded by Incheon International Airport Corporation, private companies, and the citizens. Like the name suggests, it’s a place where you can peacefully enjoy spring.

Many Koreans visit this place which boasts ecological spaces such as forests, wetlands, and mudflats, as well as rest areas like grassy lawns, walking trails, and lakes. The Cherry Blossom Tunnel Trail, which can only be seen in April, is particularly famous. The cherry blossoms are in full bloom forming a tunnel, making it a beautiful sight to see.

We have a tip for you to enjoy the World Peace Forest all the more! Trek the “Healthy 100 Years’ Path,” one of the main courses of Yeongjong Dulle-gil (walking paths)! Healthy 100 Years’ Path is a 5.6 km round-trip course that starts from Unseo Station near Incheon Airport, passes through Baengnyeonsan Mountain, and reaches the World Peace Forest. Strolling down a road full of cherry blossoms will allow you to appreciate spring with all your senses! 🙂

Another landmark on Yeongjongdo is Yeongjong Seaside Park, offering a view of the open sea and Incheon Bridge. This is a coastal park about 8 km from Gueupbaetteo to Incheon Bridge, boasting the size of Yeouido, Seoul. This place too has a cherry blossom road for you to enjoy in the spring.

Seaside Park is divided into five small parks. One of them, Yeongjongjin Park is famous for giving you a triple combo of cherry blossoms, magnolias, and the sea in one spot. In addition, there are various additional facilities such as outdoor performance halls, camping grounds, foot baths, salt warehouses, and history halls for you to take advantage of.

If you want to properly experience the cherry blossoms, you must ride Incheon’s only rail bike track. You can ride on a four-seater bike along a 5.6 km round-trip track following the beach of Seaside Park. Pedaling along the West Sea with the sea breeze in your hair will be quite a different spring season experience! 🙂
