Early July every year, a very unique festival takes place in Roswell of the US state of New Mexico. ๐ It all started back in 1947, when someone reported finding suspicious pieces of debris to authorities. The debris was reported at the time to be remains from a military balloon, however to this day there are people who believe that they were actually remains from a UFO. Those interested in aliens and UFOs started to visit this city, leading it to soon be known as the UFO capital of the world.
During the festival, the entire neighborhood is transformed into a place welcoming aliens. ๐ง There are alien movies screened, an alien costume contest๐ฝ, alien-themed markets, and other diverse programs and events. There are even special lectures and seminars with guest UFO expert speakers.

Every year, you can witness the unique sight of Spanish people throwing tomatoes ๐ at one another. This is part of an annual tomato festival called La Tomatina, which takes place in a small town named Buรฑol in Valencia of Spain. Youโll get a good taste of red at this action-packed event thatโs made a name for itself simply through people having a blast throwing tomatoes. ๐โโ๏ธEvery year, this festival goes through a whopping 150,000 tomatoes, weighing 40 tons!
The action officially begins when someone can climb up a greased pole to grab the piece of hanging ham. The rule is you can only throw mashed tomatoes and nothing else. After an hour of this tomato food fight, the entire street gets stained with red. When the festival ends, firefighters and festival participants will work together to clean up the mess. * Location: Black Rock Desert in Nevada of the US
You wonโt find Black Rock City on a map, as it only becomes a city during the Burning Man Festival. ๐ฅ Artists and people who are not mere observers but participants, will gather to create their own city filled with their own expressions and interpretations. When Saturday night arrives, youโll see a wooden man set ablaze, hence the festivalโs name.
Participants will show off their works in the middle of the desert, amidst various music performances.
The highlightโจ is when the symbolic 12 meter tall wooden effigy, the Burning Man, is set on fire. After the festival comes to an end, Black Rock City disappears without a trace.
