Incheon Airport Attends CES 2023 as First Airport Participant in the World

Incheon Airport โ was the first airport in the world to participate in CES 2023, the world’s largest IT and consumer electronics exhibition. The event was held as an offline in-person event for the first time in three years since the COVID-19 pandemic. It drew attention from all over the world, bringing in as many as 100,000 visitors.
There was an “Incheon Airport Hall” booth at CES 2023 presenting visions of the airportโs future. Airport passenger services and operation systems fused with futuristic technologies, such as Metaverse, UAM, and biometric recognition, were exhibited. The booth was especially popular because visitors were able to experience this envisioned future airport and its services.
It was a valuable time to introduce various new technologies jointly developed by Incheon Airport and small and medium-sized companies, including MyAirport and Smart Pass, UAM, future air transportation vehicles, Incheon Airport parking GPS, and Incheon Airportโs AR indoor navigation system.
Through participation in CES 2023, Korea’s airport industry technology was widely shared with the world. Anticipation has only gotten higher to see how Incheon Airport will lead the future airport industry!
Are You a Transit Passenger? Take Advantage of Our Resumed Free Outside Transit Tours

Incheon Airportโs Transit Tour is a tour service that first started in 2004. It is a free tour program for passengers taking connecting flights to a third country out of Incheon Airport. It has been very popular with international travelers because they can make special use of long layovers.
This tour program was halted for two years due to COVID-19, but recently the tours have picked back up again! As the number of passengers visiting Incheon Airport has been on the rise, 15 different tours ๐ฃ with unique themes, including Past and Present, Tradition, and Peaceful Korea, have resumed operations.
Some of the tours were popular from before the pandemic, while others are newly added tours. You can visit places that capture the essence of Korea, such as Cheong Wa Dae, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and Insadong. If you want to make the most of your layovers at Incheon Airport, sign up for the Incheon Airport Transit Tours that have started back up again ๐ฉ!
New Direct, Stop-Free Route Opens Connecting Terminals

To get to and from Incheon Airport Terminal 1 and 2 by car, you have to get back on Yeongjongdo road. Imagine getting stuck at a light on your way to the other terminal for a flight? Just what you need at a time like that: to waste more precious minutes! Well, a new route has been opened, connecting the terminals with no stops or traffic light interruptions.
The newly opened route has four lanes going in each direction, running a total length of 3.87 km, which is 3 km shorter than the existing road. The time required to travel between terminals has also been reduced by about 5 minutes, shaving off 25 to 30 percent of total minutes.
In the future, we are planning to create and expand new roads so that they all flow faster through Incheon Airport. Look forward to travel made even easier! ๐
The First-Passenger Welcoming Ceremony Held in 2023

The first time for anything is always meaningful. In 2023, a special event was held to celebrate the ‘first’ passenger at Incheon Airport! The lucky person was a visitor who arrived at Incheon Airport on flight KE201 from Los Angeles early in the morning of January 1, 2023.
The lucky person was given a commemorative plaque prepared by Incheon Airport Corporation, a flight ticket sponsored by Korean Air, and a hotel accommodation ticket. Congratulations to our lucky passenger once again! ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป
Incheon Airport โ has continued to recover, with the number of daily passengers exceeding 120,000 during the Lunar New Year holiday. We hope that 2023 will be a year where we can welcome more people through our doors, starting with our lucky first passenger.
New Yearโs Concert, โJazzy Fantasyโ Held to Usher in New Year

Lastly, a special concert was held at the Millennium Hall of Incheon Airport Terminal 1 on January 12th to mark the New Year’s Day. Following last year, we kickstarted the new year with the beautiful musical stylings of the Dear Jazz Orchestra.
The Dear Jazz Orchestra is a jazz performance group composed of young and talented string musicians, including Kang Yi-chae, a conductor from Berkeley College of Music. The group has been arranging and playing music from across various genres. Such as Latin, ballad, bossa nova, and classical ๐ป.
The New Year’s concert held at Incheon Airport โ had a total of nine songs be performed, including โI Got Rhythmโ, โRoute 56โ, and โOh Tomorrowโ. It was a special time to usher in 2023 with the joy of jazz music!
